Nepal, Harmi Children

November, 2016 Choice Humanitarian Expedition to Gorkha, Harmi, Nepal.

Harmi Children

School was in session, even with the construction work. The children were well disciplined and courteous, many of the teenagers were shy and would not let me take their picture. Others were friendly and welcomed the photography. I had several who would find and follow me around when they were not in class.

The caste system was a definite part of the school dynamics. A number of times, I watched as children would openly taunt and berate peers from a lesser caste. In perspective, this was not much different from our schools in the US.

One of my friends who followed me everywhere.
